Crystal Gage, a country music performer from Windsor, was born to perform, and for an audience of all ages. Singer, performer, producer - and even comedian - all define this extraordinary talented artist. Highly professional vocals; a developing song writing ability; and an amazing stage presence, thanks in part to an entertaining sense of humour, bonds any audience with an amazing stage presence with her passion for music.  Recently, Crystal competed in a Canada wide search conducted by CMT to find the nation’s Karaoke Superstar in which after a weeklong online vote by viewers she took home the title and grand prize. After winning she took part in several radio, newspaper and television interviews as well as a show she co-hosted on CMT called “Videos we like”. “Off the Rack”, at radio across Canada now, written by Cyril Rawson and Darryl Burgess is a song  that shows Crystal’s personality and love for traditional country music with a bit of attitude. It sets the tone for her brand new album, “Dust to Diamonds”, which is packed with great songs carefully chosen to make you tap along, laugh along, even cry along Countrystyle, and she wouldn’t have it any other way.

deanbrody2010_2“Without risk there’s no reward,” says Dean Brody. “It’s important to be fearless. You need to be persistent. You can’t give up.” Dean Brody would know. If there’s one thing the Jaffray, BC born singer/songwriter has proven in his career, it’s that he’s not afraid to pull up stakes and risk everything to chase down his dreams. It’s fair to say that ethic is a good part of the inspiration behind the title to his new record, ‘Trail In Life’, released August 2010, the follow up to his 2009 self-titled debut, and his first on Open Road Recordings.  Brody’s first single ‘Brothers’ hit the top 10 in Canada, garnering multiple CCMA nominations in 2009, and taking home the award for Single of the Year. Both follow up singles, ’Dirt Roads Scholar’ and‘Undone’, went on to break the top 5 at Canadian radio and ‘Dirt Roads Scholar’ hit number 1 on CMT ,becoming the most spun song by a new Canadian country artist in 2009. In 2010, Brody released his second album, ‘Trail In Life’, with three (3) singles and counting. ‘Wildflower’ peaked in the top 20 and ‘Roll That Barrel Out’ went top 5 on the Mediabase country chartand #1 on the Trax Report Canadian country chart. His current single, ‘Trail In Life’ is top 10 and rising onboth the CMT and country radio charts. At the 2010 CCMA’s Dean was nominated for Male Artist of the Year as well as CMT Video of the Year.

High Valley

highvalley-001“The overall goal of the record is to make people think,” says lead vocalist Brad Rempel, who alongwith his brothers Bryan and Curtis comprises High Valley. “You don’t have to listen to too many songs on the record to see that there are songs about challenges. We want people to think about their lives and to think about their loved ones and to ask: ‘What am I doing with my life?’” As a result, High Valley’s upcoming album is a collection that is both entertaining and thought-provoking. It’s an album that will make listeners want to roll down the windows and let the soaring sibling harmonies wash over them while the lyrics will likely prompt some soul searching about relationships and priorities. The album also features upbeat fare such as “Combine,” a song penned by Brad that reflects the Rempel brothers’ farm family roots. High Valley’s last album, “Broken Borders,” was named Album of the Year at the 2007 GMA Canada Covenant Awards in the country category while their hit “Back to You” was honored as Country Song of the Year.  The Canadian-born siblings grew up in Alberta on a farm in the rural community of La Crete. Life on their farm was dominated by faith, family, hard work and lots of country music. “We always heard Diamond Rio and Ricky Skaggs growing up,” says Bryan. “I love Blackhawk and I always liked listening to the Everly Brothers on the record player. George Jones was played a lot too.” Music and family have always been at the core of the Rempel brothers’ lives. “We always describe ourselves as Dierks Bentley as a trio. It’s that new country kind of vibe,” says Brad of the High Valley sound. “It’s not as pop as some contemporary country. Our music is a little more organic, a little more acoustic. We grew up singing harmony as a family and in church. There was always harmony and acoustic instruments, so our live show features a mandolin, an acoustic guitar, a bass guitar and three part harmony.”
